Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of Terms

By downloading, installing, or using the HuntScout mobile application ("App"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not use the App.

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. Your continued use of the App following the posting of changes constitutes your acceptance of such changes.

2. Description of Service

HuntScout is an application designed to assist hunters across Canada with:

  • Viewing crown land boundaries and classifications
  • Accessing Wildlife Management Unit (WMU) information
  • Tracking hunting seasons and regulations
  • Saving favorite hunting locations
  • AI-powered hunting assistance and information

The App is intended for informational purposes only and should not be relied upon as the sole source of hunting regulations or land access permissions.

3. User Accounts

To access certain features of the App, you may be required to create an account. You are responsible for:

  • Maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials
  • All activities that occur under your account
  • Notifying us immediately of any unauthorized use
  • Providing accurate and complete information during registration

4. Acceptable Use & Zero Tolerance Policy

You agree not to use the App to:

  • Violate any applicable laws or regulations
  • Infringe upon the rights of others
  • Transmit harmful, offensive, or illegal content
  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to our systems
  • Interfere with the proper functioning of the App
  • Use the App for any commercial purpose without our consent

Zero Tolerance Policy: HuntScout maintains a zero tolerance policy for objectionable content and abusive users. This includes, but is not limited to: harassment, bullying, hate speech, threats, graphic violence, sexually explicit content, illegal activity, and spam. Users who violate this policy will have their content removed and their account suspended or permanently terminated.

5. User-Generated Content & Guidelines

HuntScout includes collaborative features (such as Logbook and Hunting Parties) that allow users to post content and interact with other users. By using these features, you agree to the following:

  • Content Responsibility: You are solely responsible for any content you post. You represent that your content does not violate any laws or infringe on any third-party rights.
  • Content Filtering: We employ automated content filtering to detect and prevent objectionable content. Content that violates our policies may be automatically hidden or removed.
  • Reporting: Users can report objectionable content or abusive users through the in-app reporting feature. We encourage you to report any content that violates our guidelines.
  • Blocking: Users can block other users to prevent seeing their content. When you block a user, our moderation team is automatically notified to review the blocked user's content.
  • Moderation Response: Our team reviews all reports within 24 hours. Content that violates our guidelines will be removed, and users who post objectionable content will have their accounts suspended or terminated.
  • Content License: By posting content, you grant HuntScout a non-exclusive, royalty-free license to use, display, and distribute your content within the App.

Violation of content guidelines will result in content removal and may result in account suspension or permanent termination. Repeated violations or severe violations (such as illegal content, threats, or harassment) will result in immediate account termination.

6. Disclaimer of Warranties

The App is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. We do not warrant that the App will meet your specific requirements, be uninterrupted, timely, secure, or error-free.

Always verify hunting regulations with official provincial government sources before hunting. Land boundaries and classifications may change. You are solely responsible for ensuring compliance with all applicable laws.

7. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, HuntScout and its affiliates shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising out of or related to your use of the App.

8. Intellectual Property

All content, features, and functionality of the App are owned by HuntScout or its licensors and are protected by intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works without our express written consent.

9. Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your access to the App at any time, with or without cause, and with or without notice. Upon termination, your right to use the App will immediately cease.

10. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Province of Ontario, Canada, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.
