2026 Hunting Season Changes by Province and State
Provincial PDFs and state proclamations moved in 2026. This is the change log we can publish because we already store the dates by unit. Always verify against the official source before you hunt.
Canada
Manitoba
- New elk seasons in GHA 22 (archery draw, general draw, landowner draw) and a new archery draw in GHA 35A.
- Draw bag limit in GHAs 13 and 23A changed from “one elk or one moose” to “one elk or one bull moose”.
- Province-wide e-licensing live 1 Apr 2026 at manitobaelicensing.ca, with updated fees.

New Brunswick
- Resident moose season is a short window: 22–26 Sep 2026. Missing the May–June draw means sitting the year out.
- Antlerless deer draw: 27 Jul–21 Aug 2026, results 8 Sep. Non-residents cannot apply.

Alberta
- 2026 Big Game Special Licence draw: applied 2–25 Jun, results 14 Jul, leftover licences 4 Aug. That cycle is closed.
- Season dates by WMU are still live and are not the same as the draw calendar.

Ontario
- Dates still vary by WMU. Moose, goose, and grouse (including partridge) each have their own season page so the province hub is no longer the landing page for those queries.
United States
US season pages are a test, not an expansion. Two clusters are instrumented for a 3-week CTR read: Montana elk/deer archery and rifle, and Arkansas bear. If either clears 1% CTR at positions 6–10, the pattern extends; if not, US growth stays App Store + paid.
