Woodcock and snipe season
Woodcock opens a month earlier in Scotland than elsewhere, and common snipe opens on 12 August in Great Britain.

Deer season
Deer seasons are set by species and sex, and Scotland no longer has a close season for male deer.

Lead ammunition ban
What changes in 2028 and 2029, and what the lead shot rules are now.
England and Wales share most of their game law: the Game Act 1831 for pheasant, partridge and grouse, the Wildlife and Countryside Act 1981 for wildfowl, woodcock and snipe, and the Deer Act 1991 for deer. Scotland moved its game birds into its own version of the Wildlife and Countryside Act in 2011 and sets deer seasons by order. Northern Ireland uses the Game Preservation Act (NI) 1928 and the Wildlife (NI) Order 1985.
The biggest differences: Scotland has no close season for male deer, red grouse in Scotland can only be shot on licensed land, Northern Ireland seasons close earlier for pheasant and grouse, and the Sunday rules differ by country. Each country page lists its own rules with the source.
See registered land boundaries, protected sites, open access land and season dates on an offline map in the HuntScout app. A boundary on the map is never permission to shoot.
