Manitoba’s resident elk and moose licences are issued by draw, not over the counter. The 2026 application period opened May 1. The province extended the deadline from May 31 to June 5, 2026 (11:59 p.m.) while it moved to a new Canadian e-licensing system at manitobaelicensing.ca. Landowner elk is a separate draw on the same calendar; land-ownership declarations were due May 15. Draw results for the resident elk/moose and landowner elk draws were scheduled for mid-July 2026 (Manitoba’s wildlife page listed July 17). Licence payment followed on a deadline the province posted with results. Queries such as “manitoba big game draw 2026” currently have no dedicated HuntScout URL — this page is that URL. Caribou and non-resident migratory bird draws use different dates and are listed on the official key-dates page, not here.
Create an account on Manitoba eLicensing and complete the resident big-game draw application during the open window. Applications are online only on the new system. You will choose hunt choices (species, area, season) as the form allows. Keep the confirmation. The May 29, 2026 government bulletin is the source for the June 5 extension — if a blog still says May 31, it is stale. Non-Canadian resident migratory game bird draw applications opened June 15, 2026, which is a different lottery.

Unsuccessful applicants hunt only what remains available over the counter (for example some deer seasons).
