Ontario does not run one provincial “hunting draw.” It runs several tag allocations on the Fish and Wildlife Licensing Service, each with its own open and close date. The 2026 antlerless deer draw (the one behind queries like “ontario deer draw 2026”) accepted applications March 1–June 30, with results August 1 and tags printable from August 18. The controlled deer hunt draw — a different product — ran July 1–31, with results September 1. Moose has a primary allocation April 1–30 (results May 16) and a second-chance allocation June 15–July 7 (results August 1). Elk ran April 15–June 10, results August 1. As of August 23, 2026 every application window is closed; the controlled deer results date (September 1) is the only date still ahead. HuntScout’s Ontario seasons page ranks for these queries today but does not list the deadlines. This page does.
You need hunter accreditation on file, a valid Outdoors Card, and — for antlerless deer — a deer licence before or when you apply (Ontario lets you buy the licence before applying or before party hunting). Apply online through the Fish and Wildlife Licensing Service, by phone at 1-800-288-1155, or in person. Controlled deer and elk allow groups of up to four. Moose allocations are individual. You can apply to both the antlerless deer draw and the controlled deer hunt draw in the same year. There is no fee listed on the ministry apply page beyond the underlying licences.
Official portal: Fish and Wildlife Licensing ServiceResults appear in the licensing service and by phone. Antlerless tags can be printed from the result date Ontario publishes (August 18, 2026 for antlerless). Controlled deer validations print on the licence summary starting September 1. Additional leftover deer tags, when offered, have their own on-sale dates (July 8 and September 8 in 2026). Drawn or not, you still hunt only in WMUs that are open for that species and weapon. Use HuntScout’s Ontario WMU map and deer/moose season pages for the dates after you have a tag.
These rows are tagged draw-only in HuntScout’s season data. That is not the application window — it is which hunts you cannot buy over the counter.
